2011 UAAP Samsung Cheerdance Competition
I watched CDC yesterday to support my university cheering squad. Sad to say, I was not on the FEU area because a lot of people already occupied the general admission section up to its entrance. Yes, I bought a general admission ticket which costs 350php on a scalper. (Real price is 50php) To find a good place to watch, I changed my shirt so that no one will recognize that I’m a Tamaraw. We went to AdU side and said that we are students of AdU. It was 2:00pm that time and we have no seats. I said to myself, ”Dito na lang tayo. Pwede na to, kahit nakatayo.” But then I realized that we are in front of the big drums. Haha. The band started playing and my whole body is literally moving forward because of the drum’s beat. Good thing, one man from Araneta said that each band should only occupy general admission’s first three rows so that students can enter. Of course, we immediately went up the bleachers not of AdU but on the side of Ateneo. Hahahahaha. Yes, we pretended that we are part of the Ateneo crowd. Blue Babble Band is really accommodating. They accompanied us to find a good spot. They even gave us balloons with “One Big Fight” print. Haha. Our next dilemma is to cheer for ADMU. Haha. I don’t know any other chant of Ateneo except “Go Ateneo, One Big Fight!” Haha. We just acted as if we are Atenistas. Haha.
The competition started and I noticed a lot of improvement in each squad’s routine, especially La Salle’s. They wowed the crowd with their warrior look. The defending champion, UP Pep Squad dyed their hair blonde. Hands down to UP. The whole crowd is clapping their hands during their performance. At syempre, FEU Cheering Squad, with Bollywood inspired theme showed riskier stunts and pyramids. I must say, they are innovating every year! (Oo na, ang bias ko. Haha).
